This website is a collaboration between Willi Weiss, Germany and Warren Watson, United States of America.
Our fathers fought in the Battle of the Bulge - but on different sides…..We do it differently and work together !
Whether our fathers saw themselves - we do not know…..
We reported on specific combat operations in the months from December 1944 to March 1945 - then and now

The first German / American cooperation on this topic

While the names of political leaders and military generals dominate historical chronicles, wars are fought between common men. Men whose last choice would be to take another one's life, men who with every fiber of their being, strive just for survival. Men longing to return to a family they never thought they’d leave. They fight to protect the man next to them…for honor…and for duty. This duty many times can be of a very dubious origin. Yet they step forth into the Valley of Death. This my dear friends is courage. When men of courage from opposite sides find themselves face to face, they understand one another. Different countries, different languages, different goals is no hindrance. They know where each other comes from. Courage recognizes courage. The goal of this website is to show that this courage knows no country or age. These men sacrificed all that they might hopefully return to family in peace. We hope to tell a small part of their story.

Warren Watson
